Altha Leona Keith, age 93, of Pima, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

Leona was born on Feb. 20, 1932, in Temple to Leola and Charles Sagebiel. Leona was raised in Llano, graduated from Texas Tech University, and married George C. Keith on June 8, 1952. Known to family and friends as ‘Dogie,’ she was a teacher at La Grange Elementary for many years and a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of La Grange.

Leona is survived by daughters: Diane and husband, Jerry Johnson of Pima, Ariz., Sheila Prause of Columbus, and Dee and husband, Gary McIlroy of La Grange. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Shannon Van Cleve and husband, Christopher, Thomas Johnson, PJ Edwards-Ray, Christa Kobinski and husband, John, Joshua Johnson and wife, Katie, Anthony Royal and wife, Rachel, Kristan Perello and husband, Joseph, Rachel Brown and husband, Taylor, Zachary McIlroy and wife, Sarah, and Meagan Talent and husband, Zackary. Leona is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of La Grange with family present at this time to receive friends. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m.

Following the church service, a private graveside service will be held. Please join the family at the conclusion of the service for a reception held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in their fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Second Chance Emporium of La Grange in Leona’s memory.
