Stacy Lea Johnson, 55, of Bastrop formerly of La Grange, entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024.

Stacy was born in Jefferson City, Mo. on Jan. 30, 1969, the daughter of Ernest and Bertha “Betty” (Hampton) Keeney.

Stacy graduated from La Grange High School in 1987 and attended Blinn College and Texas Tech. She dedicated 21 years in management for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, retiring in 2021.

She married the love of her life, Frank Johnson on July 29, 2001 in Las Cruces, N.M.

Full of life and a ray of sunshine, Stacy was the type of person that always had a positive outlook on life. She was a devoted wife and daughter that valued the importance of faith and family.

Stacy was such a creative person who loved crafting and painting. She loved going to craft shows with her best friend and mother, Betty.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Johnson; mother, Bertha “Betty” Keeney of La Grange; brother, Thomas Keeney of Bastrop; sisters: Donna Rohde and husband, Jimmy of La Grange and Karolyn Reilly-Galbreath and husband, Scott of Pomona, Calif.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who will miss her dearly.

Stacy was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Keeney; brother, Charles Keeney; sister, Sondra Keeney; and her grandparents: Claude and Mittie Keeney and Pete and Helen Hampton.

A visitation will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024 from 5 - 7 p.m. with the family present at this time to receive friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 11, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the New Life Methodist Church of La Grange where the family encourages all guests attending to wear bright colors that day to symbolize happiness and peace to honor Stacy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Methodist Church Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 89, La Grange, TX 78945.
