Jernigan

Kelley Keith Jernigan, Jr, 34, of Plantersville, passed away suddenly on Oct. 29, 2023.

Kelley was born on Oct. 16, 1989, and was a loyal friend with a kind heart. He was a dedicated family man and leaves behind a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Kelley is survived by his three children, Kenneth, Lindsey, and Abby, as well as his parents, Derrick and Melissa (Ewing) Jernigan. He is also survived by his siblings Brandi Jernigan, Amanda Henson (Corey), Emily Zukowski (Zach), and Ryan Jernigan. Kelley will be dearly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Phyllis (Brown) Jernigan.

Kelley graduated from Stratford High School in Houston where he excelled at football, and later joined the family business, Horizon Builders, Inc., where he dedicated 15 years of his life. Outside of work, Kelley had a passion for building and driving mud buggies, bartering and trading cars etc., raising and racing homing pigeons, hunting and fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Kelley at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. The visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, followed by a funeral service on Nov. 8, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
