Jakobeit

Patrick Julian Jakobeit was born June 19, 1951, in Franklin, Texas to Adolph E. Jakobeit and Adela Mary (Mechura) Jakobeit.

Patrick was an adventurer and worldwide traveler, who never met a stranger and has friends from all walks of life.

His faith has always been an important aspect of his life and he participated in ministries to jail inmates, homeless and other ministries throughout his life.

Patrick was a member of The Remnant Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Albert A. Jakobeit; sister, Linda K. Prather and brotherin- law, Robert (Bob) Prather.

Patrick passed away Sept. 2, 2023, in Bastrop after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his sister- in-law, Connie Jakobeit, nephews, Charles (Kellie) Jakobeit and Robbie Jakobeit and nieces, Francis Swanson (Eric), Nora DeBoard and Shandell Jakobeit-Schubert (Kevin) as well as numerous great nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at White Rock Park in La Grange on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at 10 a.m.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange.
