Hoffmann

Bessie M. (Poncik) Hoffmann, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on Dec. 12, 1934.

Bessie will be missed by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Delores Mutschler, and son-in-law, Marlin; daughter, Diane Castillo, and son-in-law, Francisco; her son, Edward Boettcher, and daughter-in-law, Suzy; her son, Leonard Boettcher, and daughter-in-law, Sara; her daughter, Dorothy Amundsen, and son-in-law, Scott; and her daughter, Mary Cameron, and significant other, Jeff Cilman. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren, all of whom brought her joy; Bessie’s sister, Rosie Hrbacek; Bessie’s dog, Pouchie; along with other loving family members, including her neighbors and dear friends that she also considered as family. Bessie was proceeded in death by Herman Boettcher, father to her children; her second husband, Bennie Trlicek; beloved husband, Rudolph Hoffmann; parents: Frank Poncik and Bertha Reuther; sister, Dorothy and brother in law, Raymond Selzer, brothers: Eddie and Laddie Poncik; and brother-in-law, Amos Hrbacek.

A visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024 from 4 - 6 p.m. with family present at this time to receive friends. A Holy Rosary was recited at 6 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of La Grange on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the La Grange City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Annunciation No. 1962-Bessie Hoffmann Memorial Scholarship; Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society, Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, or to the VFW Post No. 5254 of La Grange.
