Hillbolt
Charlotte (Barthelemy) Hillbolt, 87, of Round Top, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020.
Charlotte was born in Graham, Texas on Oct. 17, 1932, the daughter of Felix and Audie May Barthelemy.
Charlotte married the love of her life, Grover Lee Roy Hillbolt, on Aug. 2, 1953, in Imperial, Texas. The couple was later blessed with one son, Frank.
Charlotte was a multi-faceted woman. She was talented, intelligent, generous, funny, and very loving and supportive to all of the people she came in touch with.
She was especially supportive of her husband Grover and her son Frank. She loved to paint and, country-sides were her favorite. Charlotte was a very dedicated piano teacher in Austin and Houston where she taught hundreds of kids piano. She was also a proud member of many music clubs and organizations and very active in all of them. In 1962 they bought a farm in Round Top, and upon Grover’s retirement moved to Round Top full time.
In 1988 they opened Round Top Real Estate and remained active with the company until 2017. She started her real estate career in Houston in 1980.
Charlotte was a very devout Christian all her life and very supportive of the churches where she worshipped. She had a true faith in God.
One thing for sure mom had a true love for getting together no matter what the event was - the more the merrier. She lived life to the fullest and had no regrets.
Always a smile on her face and ready to go - she lived life to the fullest and had no regrets. She was a very happy person with a very deep love in her soul.
She is survived by her son, Frank Hillbolt of Round Top; and numerous other loving family members; along with a host of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover Hillbolt; two brothers: Dale Barthelemy and William Barthelemy.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations.
Funeral Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 156 N. Monroe St. in La Grange, at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020. Burial will follow at Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top.
In an abundance of caution due to the recent COVID-19 operating procedures, the recommendations of the Governor and County Judge, state that face masks be worn as well as social distancing up to six feet apart while in the funeral home. The number of people entering St. James Episcopal Church will be restricted, and there will be limited seating available.
