James Charles Havran, 83 of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Nov. 1, 2024, at Schulenburg Regency.

James was born in Fayette County, Texas, on April 27, 1941, the son of Victor Peter Havran and Anita Jo (Havlik) Havran.

In 1959, James graduated from Fayetteville High School where he was active in FFA, basketball, and baseball. After graduating he attended business school in Austin where he met his wife of 62 years, Jean Carol Sralla. They moved to La Grange where they raised their two daughters, Rhonda and Renee. He worked as the accounting and finance manager at Fayette Electric Cooperative and also later at Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative until retirement.

In 2004, they moved to the country in Fayetteville. James enjoyed fishing at the coast, bowling, watching western movies, traveling and being out on his land.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Rhonda Johnson and husband, Walt of Colorado City; daughter, Renee Wenske and husband, Harvey of La Grange; grandchildren: Ty Johnson and wife, April of Colorado City; Chaelea Kendall and husband, Kyle of Brenham; Tuff Johnson of McCurtain, Okla.; Brandy Johnson of Colorado City; Taryn Wenske and husband, Chris Raborn of Lockhart, and Jenna Wenske and special friend, Ripon Mitchell of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Clayton Johnson, Colton Johnson, Catelyn Johnson, Arianne Johnson, Oakley Johnson, Shae Johnson, Remi Kendall, Reece Kendall, and step great grandson William Kendall.

The family wishes to thank the employees at Schulenburg Regency for their loving care of James.

A celebration of his life will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024. The family will be present for visitation starting at 9 a.m. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m.
