Dale Jean Goetzinger passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025 in La Grange, at the age of 95. Born on Nov. 8, 1929, in Donna, Texas to Christian Goetzinger and Alice Spaulding. Dale’s life was one marked by dedication, hard work, and a loving heart. He was a man who embodied the virtues of generosity, knowledge, and integrity.
Dale’s journey began in the Rio Grande Valley, where he graduated from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School in 1948, a milestone that set the stage for a life of service and achievement. He was drafted into the army in 1951 and served two years. For over three decades, Dale worked in agribusiness. His career as a manager at a fertilizer company showcased his commitment to the land and the community that he so dearly loved. Dale’s work ethic and leadership within the industry were a testament to his knowledge and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Dale was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Glenna Goetzinger for 67 years who preceded him in death in 2024. Together, they shared a life filled with love and mutual respect. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Kerry and her husband Brian Ryder and Gay and her husband Chuck Mazac. Known affectionately as Pa-Paw to his cherished grandchildren, April (Zac), Mandee (Adam), Wesley (Ashley), Kristy, and Rebekah (Aaron). He was also a proud greatgrandfather to Glenn, Claire, Kate, Samuel, Harvey and Scarlett.
Dale was a member of New Life Methodist Church in La Grange. His passions extended beyond his professional and spiritual life. He was an avid citrus farmer and gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. Dale was handy with repairing his tractors and other farm equipment.
Additionally, Dale enjoyed western movies and classic country music.
