Regina Rosie (Malota) Gerik, 88, of Fayetteville, Texas, passed away, May 18, 2025 at TruCare Living Centers in Columbus.
Regina was born in Fayetteville on March 13, 1937, the daughter of Frank and Albina (Sury) Malota.
She married, Clarence J. Gerik, on Feb. 26, 1957 in Fayetteville. Regina and Clarence were blessed with 54 years of marriage. Regina enjoyed being a homemaker and Mother. She was a faithful member of the St. John The Baptist Church of Fayetteville and the Ladies Altar Society. She was also a long-time member of the K.J.Z.T. St. Anne’s Society #10 for over 75 years.
She is survived by her three sons: Clarence F. Gerik (fiancée, Rose Urban) of Columbus, Ronnie Gerik (Pam) of Fayetteville, Steven Gerik (special friend, Julie) of Brenham, and her two daughters: Susan Gilbreth (Stephen) of Copperas Cove, and Shirley Noviskie (Randy) of Fayetteville; her sister, Lillie Prihoda of Freeport; brother, Justin Malota, Sr. (Henrietta) of Fayetteville; three sisters-in-law: Clara Gerik, Betty Gerik both of Fayetteville and Ludie Dennis of Warda; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; one step great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews, and all her special friends and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence J. Gerik; brothers, Arnold Malota, Sr. and wife, Wilma; Frank Malota and wife, Albina; sister, Adell Coufal and husband, Emmett Sr; brotherin- law, Syl Prihoda; nephew, Arnold Malota, Jr. and step grandchild, Brandy Noviskie Martinez.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Crematory, 109 E. State Hwy 71, Ellinger. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fayetteville, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Burial followed at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service were: Kyle Gerik, Kyle Noviskie, Ethan Shows, Cameron Urban, Emmett Coufal, Jr., Justin Malota Jr., and Bruce Prihoda.
