Frank Charles Gemar, 88, of Houston, passed away on Feb. 5, 2026, in Houston.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1938, in Waco, to Frank Gemar and Pauline Delos (Newby) Gemar. On Sept. 29, 1962, he married Marceline Evelyn Berger, with whom he shared many years of devoted marriage.

Frank worked for many years as an Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer at Houston Lighting & Power. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was a faithful member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and an active member of Knights of Columbus Council #12385. Frank enjoyed time with his family and being involved in his parish and community. He supported others through many years of volunteer service, including work with MD Anderson Cancer Center and Braes Interfaith Ministries.

Frank is survived by his sons, Edward Gemar (Sunny Scobell) of Austin and Michael Gemar (Laura McRae) of Toronto, Canada; his sister, Polly Gemar Clark of Houston; and his beloved grandchildren, Zoe and Zephyr Gemar.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marceline Gemar, and his parents, Frank and Pauline Gemar.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at 1 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Weimar with Deacon Dwain Dungen officiating. Burial will take place at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9900 Stella Link Road, Houston, Texas 77025.

Honorary pallbearers are all members of Knights of Columbus Council #12385.
