Froehlich
Mildred Anita (Skalitsky) Froehlich, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2026, in Katy, surrounded by the warmth of her family. She was born on Jan. 18, 1938, in Frelsburg.
Mildred was a proud graduate of Fayetteville High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a deep sense of community. Her professional life was devoted to nurturing young minds in her beloved Home Daycare, and she further extended her caring reach at A Child’s Reflection. Her dedication to children’s welfare and education was evident in every smile she coaxed out of her children charges and every comforting embrace she offered.
Spirituality played a significant role in Mildred’s life, guiding her through times of joy and sorrow with unwavering faith. She found solace and strength in her spiritual beliefs, which she shared through her actions more than her words.
Mildred’s loving nature was the cornerstone of her existence. She was the epitome of a matriarch, whose love for her family knew no bounds. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Emilie “Millie” (Elsik) Skalitsky, and her beloved grandson, Lance Hausenfluck. Mildred’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted husband of 69 years, Wallace Froehlich. Her legacy will also live on through her daughters, Dolleen and Terry Hausenfluck, Aileen and Russell Raska, Sharla and Tom Markiewicz, and her son, William Froehlich and his fiancée, Brenda Delcambre. Her thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren will continue to bask in the warmth of her love and the wisdom she imparted.
Mildred’s life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, generosity, and selflessness. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt. Yet, the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the unconditional love she shared will continue to brighten the lives of her family and friends for generations to come. Mildred Anita (Skalitsky) Froehlich’s spirit will forever remain a guiding light, her laughter a gentle echo, and her love a comforting embrace.
