Mrs. Friedel passed from this world March 23, 2024, in Austin.

Vivian was born Dec. 10, 1939, to Hugo Mascheck and Irene (Ruether) Mascheck in Fayetteville. She attended St. John the Baptist School in Fayetteville. On Aug. 24, 1958, Vivian married Bernard Paul Friedel, Sr. at St. John Catholic Church in Fayetteville. They were together for 62 years before his passing.

Vivian was a loving Mother and Grandmother who took her homemaking duties to heart. She loved to sew, quilt, and crochet, all by hand, she didn’t believe in using machines for any of the work. She always made sure that each new baby in the family had their very own quilt upon arrival. Holidays were spent cooking wonderful meals with the whole family gathered around. On other occasions the family would get together and have family game nights, usually consisting of Chinese Checkers or sometimes a good game of Rummy. Vivian was also an avid fan of the Astros and the Spurs.

Vivian is survived by her warm and loving family. They include sons and daughtersin- law and partners, Bernard and Jan Friedel, Jr. of Plum, Mark and Sharron Friedel of La Grange, Myron Friedel and Jason Seal of Round Rock, Lucas and Mindy Friedel of Mansfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Don Hinkley of Round Rock, Sherry and Don Ard of Muldoon; brother and sisterin- law, Bernard and Patricia Mascheck of Fayetteville; and sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Stibora of Houston, and Joanne and Don Greenwood of Hillsboro. Also surviving Vivian are her grandchildren, Dustin and Sarah Hammit, Ashleigh Fulcher, Ryan Kelly, Kaleb Kenneth Wayne Friedel, Jessica and Javier Sanchez, Morgan and Adam Hart, Howard Colton and Allison Ard, Molly Friedel, Maggie Friedel, Luke Bernard Friedel; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous other loved ones and family friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bernard Paul Friedel, Sr., and one brother, Hugo Mascheck, Jr.
