Leslie Johnny Faldyn passed away and was called by the Lord peacefully to Heaven on April 4, 2024, at the age of 86 at his home in Cypress.

An amazing, dedicated father, he is survived by his brother Edmund Faldyn and sister Dorothy Moerbe, his four children: Donnie and wife Kim Faldyn, Laurie and husband Mike McCurry, Rodney and wife Karen Faldyn, and Sandra and husband Shane Hibbeler; 13 grandchildren: Rachel and husband Keagan Bear, Kyle and Jared Faldyn, Bryan, Brandon, and Brent McCurry, Kelli and Erin Faldyn, Chris and Christine Watson, Tristan and wife Becca Hibbeler, Dafney Hibbeler, Taylor Hibbeler and wife Stevie; and great grandson Sage Hibbeler.

Leslie was born and raised in and around La Grange where he attended La Grange High School. He served in the United States Army for two years and then in the Army Reserve National Guard for four years. While serving, he married Carmel Muras and moved to Houston in 1960 to raise his family. He was a dedicated, devoted father that also worked as a truck driver for Coca Cola Company early on, and then for over 30 years with Merchants Fast Motor Lines where he retired. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd Degree Knight, and one of a handful of founding families of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in 1977, where he was still a member.

Besides his deep devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren, his passions were gardening, raising various farm animals including chickens, turkeys, goats, and cattle, cooking barbecue (both at home and at church), playing dominoes, polka dancing, fishing, and camping on Lake Conroe.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Carmel Faldyn, parents Edwin and Antonia Faldyn, and brother Benjamin Faldyn.
