Jean Arnell (Warmke) Ehler, 83, of La Grange, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

Jean was born in Bleiblerville on Sept. 20, 1938 the daughter of Arnold and Gladys (Blaschke) Warmke. She married Leehmann Ehler on Nov. 9, 1957 in the Welcome Church. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage.

She worked in data entry for 12 years with an insurance company. The family then moved from Brenham to La Grange in 2001, where Jean continued her data entry career and officially retired in 2000.

Jean was a member of Welcome Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the outdoors. Her many passions included her love of gardening, playing dominoes, dancing to all kinds of music especially the Texas Two Step, listening to polka and watching Molly B on television. She loved Elvis and on Leehmann and Jean’s first date they watched an Elvis movie. Her many other enjoyments were playing volleyball in her younger years and going to garage sales. Jean held a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Emma. She valued spending time with her family and was a devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Leehmann Ehler; daughter, Terry Ehler of Freyburg; three sons: Brian Ehler and wife, Kymm, of Waterloo, IA; Kyn Ehler, and wife, Chantel, of New York; Steven Ehler and wife, Abbie, of Port O’Connor; sister, Bonnie Schulz and husband, David, of New Ulm; brother, Marvin Warmke and wife, Zeta, of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Austin, Skylar, Audrey and Collin Ehler; Cody Hawkins, Finnick Fires, Marcus Otto Ehler; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Warmke and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred and Emma Ehler.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Welcome Lutheran Church, 13636 FM 109, Brenham. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Welcome Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Welcome Lutheran Church.
