Funeral services for Terry Davis, 87 of Giddings, were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Pastor Robert Tiner and Pastor Josh Hahn officiated. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery with military honors provided by the Giddings American Legion York Post 276. The chilly Fairfield, Iowa landscape became a little warmer on June 12, 1935, when baby Terry Richard Davis was welcomed into the world by his five siblings and parents, Dwight and Nevera (Rupe) Davis.

Terry is survived by his children, Terri Lyn Schmidt (Tim) of Decatur and Steve B. Davis (Bamba Scott) of La Grange; his grandchildren, William Schmidt (Megan) of College Station, Daniel Schmidt of Kansas, Timothy “Scooter” Schmidt (fiancée-Katie McRae) of Florida, Anna Schmidt of Waco, and Scott B. Davis of La Grange; great grandchildren, Evangeline Schmidt of College Station, William J. Schmidt, Jr. of College Station and Philip Schmidt of College Station; one brother, Keith Davis (Rosalie) of Winnie, Texas, and sisters-in-law, Nancy Alexander (Doug) of Giddings, Mollie Davis of Austin, Marlene Davis of Brenham, Janet Matthijetz of Marble Falls, and Jeanette Stence of Lexington, and numerous nieces, nephews, and blended family, Russell Zoch (Julie) of Austin and Genna Arbuckle (Derrick) of Colorado. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
