Maxine Ann (Treybig) Cordes 81, of Houston, gained her angel wings on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021.
Maxine was born in Park, Texas on Nov. 20, 1939, the daughter of Henry and Elfis (Meinen) Treybig.
She married her soul mate, Arthur “A.C.” Cordes, Jr. on March 23, 1957 in Warrenton.
Maxine was a stay at home wife and mother that devoted her life to taking care of her precious family. Once her three children entered into high school, Maxine spent her free time babysitting. When her husband, A.C. became ill, she made sure she was there at his side to take care of him until his passing in 1988.
Maxine loved playing bingo; watching her favorite shows on television, and she adored the company of her dog, Purchee. She also enjoyed dancing to her favoirte polka music.
She is survived by son, Ray Allen Cordes (Traci) of Houston; daughter, Janet Bussart (Tim) of Hockley; sisters: Bernice Vaclavik of La Grange; and JoAnn Heintschel (Leon) of Fayetteville; brother, Daniel Treybig (Marilyn) of Houston; son-in-law, Ricky Maikranz of Houston; sister-in-law, Janette Treybig of Schulenburg; brother-in-law, Frank Kana of Smithville; grandchildren: Michael Kent (Erika); Cody Bussart (Vanessa); Crystal Cordes (Jay Tamborello); Cody Cordes (Crystal Castillo) all of Houston; Chad Maikranz (Deana) of Katy; Alisha Young (Jacob) of Livingston; and Cory Bussart (Ariel) of Kansas City, Mo.; fourteen great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Elfis (Meinen) Treybig; husband, Arthur “A.C.” Cordes, Jr.; daughter, Brenda Lee Maikranz; sisters: Gladys Sulak (Ludwig); Lucille Treybig; and Emily Kana; brothers: Kermit Treybig; Levern Treybig; and Lee Henry Treybig (Barbara); and greatgrandson, Matthew Cordes.
In an abundance of caution due to the recent COVID-19 operating procedures, the funeral home will be following the recommendations of the Governor and County Judge. Face masks must be worn and social distancing up to six feet apart must be observed.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Funeral Services were held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021. Burial followed at Florida Chapel Cemetery.
