Peggy (Altmann) Chappell, of Plano, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025. Peggy was born Oct. 24, 1951, to Rufus and Laura (Koopmann) Altmann in La Grange.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Tim Chappell of Plano; sister, Jean Schulze of Canton, and sister, Sandra Stoever (Walter), of La Grange. She is also survived by her nieces, Holly Freund (Curt) and Brandis Altmann; her nephews, Paul Schulze (Rachel) and Brentyn Altmann; great-nieces, Shelby Shankle and Ella Freund; greatnephews, Dennis and Henry Schulze and Michael Shankle Jr.; and stepdaughters, Julie and Jenny Steenbergen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Laura Altmann; brother, Gerald Altmann; and her brotherin- law, Elvis Schulze.

Peggy was known for her kindness, generosity and fierce determination. Her life was filled with dedication to her profession, service to her community, loyalty to her friends and love of her family. She will be deeply missed by all whose life she touched.

The Plano memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at 12 p.m. at First United Methodist Church Plano, 3160 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas. To have time to meet with family, friends and colleagues, a light brunch will be served at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Ted Dickey Funeral Home of Plano is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

The La Grange memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 110 W. Walnut St., La Grange. Visitation with a light breakfast will start at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the church prior to the service. A private immediate family inurnment will follow the service.
