Brugger
Beatrice Nellie Lang Brugger, age 94, passed away in the early hours of Monday, Feb. 13 in La Grange.
Bea was born to Louis H. and Nellie Mae (Knippers) Lang on Sept. 20, 1928, in Magnolia, Miss.At 7 years old, Bea lost her mother unexpectedly. Louis Lang remarried to Myrtle Hodges, who took care of Bea and her thre older brothers, Benjamin, James and Percy Lang.
Bea grew up to marry John Wayne Brugger on June 16, 1945. Although Bea and John moved to his hometown of La Grange, she always considered herself a Mississippi girl at heart. Bea and John then welcomed four children - Garry, Dwight, Michael and Sylvia, who passed in infancy.
Bea was involved in her community, most notably working at Dr. Schwake’s dental office, participating as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and later in life as a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville. Her heart was first and foremost with the Brugger family, both immediate and extended. She loved hosting family meals or events so much so that most of her grandchildren’s memories involve food or sweets at her home.
