Jesse Boaz Branam, affectionately known as J.B. by friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, in Round Rock, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

J.B. was born on July 14, 1942 and grew up in Athens, Texas. He had a youthful passion for the game of baseball that turned into the love of fast cars as he got older.

In 1966, J.B. answered the call of duty and joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country with honor and valor in the Vietnam War until his discharge in 1969. This experience impacted him in profound ways, instilling a sense of discipline and sacrifice that helped shape his life.

After his military service, J.B. returned to Texas and set his sights on working in the construction field in the Houston area. With a leap of faith, he started his own company in 1983, Branam Builders, which he grew into a successful business until his retirement in 2013.

Known for his generosity, J.B. was always ready to lend a hand or share his expertise. He was the embodiment of the word “handy,” able to fix anything and often found with a tool in hand, working on a project. His love for fishing brought serene joy, especially when accompanied by his grandchildren at his beloved property in Fayetteville. Those days “in the country” as his family would say, filled with laughter and love, are treasured memories of a life well-lived. J.B.’s absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His enduring legacy is one of strength, integrity, and a generous heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mildred Branam; brother, Lynn Branam, and his wife Marian Branam.

He is survived by brother, David Branam, sister-in-law Sally Branam; daughter, Kim Highnote, son-in-law Barry Highnote; daughter, Melanie Martinsen; sons, Brett and Bryan Branam, daughter-inlaw Leslie Branam; grandchildren Aly Martinsen, Brynn Martinsen, Grace Martinsen, Kylie Branam, Tyler Branam, Isaiah Branam, Craig Highnote, Cody Highnote, and great-grandchildren River Salazar, Hayden Highnote, Memphis Highnote, and Montana Highnote.
