Ruby Fay (Krause) Bertling, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025.

Ruby was born in Brenham on April 3, 1944, the daughter of Edgar and Erna (Heinsohn) Krause. She married Lewis Bertling on April 4, 1964.

Ruby worked as a Dietician at the Bellville Hospital for several years. During her younger years, she worked at the Bon Ton Restaurant in La Grange. She was known for her work ethic and dedication to her job.

Her family was her greatest enjoyment. She made it a point to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as much as she could. Ruby will always be remembered for always having a smile on her face and for her unforgettable laughter bringing immense joy to everyone she met.

She is survived by daughter, Brenda Schilhab and husband, William, of Fayetteville; four sons: Neal Bertling; Kenneth Bertling and wife, Debbie; Gary Bertling and wife, Karen; and Ronnie Bertling, all of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren: Derek and Brittany Schilhab; Carin and Julie Bertling; Abby Greinke; Taylor and Luke Schneider; three great grandchildren: Brynlee Greinke, Lou Silwa and Caleb Youngblood, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis; and infant sister, Fay Jeannette Krause.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Crematory, 109 E. State Hwy 71, Ellinger. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Crematory, 109 E. State Hwy 71, Ellinger, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at the New Ulm Cemetery.
