Rosalie (Rose) Marie Muras Berger was born on Nov. 11, 1930. She was the fourth of seven children born to Joseph A. Muras and Bettie (Lidiak) Muras. She was the last surviving sibling of the seven.

Rose passed away on Jan. 16, 2023, in Katy, at the age of 92 years.

She married Melroy G. Berger on July 9, 1955, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Holman. Together they raised four children, Betty, Cathy, David, and Kenneth.

Rose has been a lifetime resident of La Grange. Rose enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and babysitting her grandchildren. She did upholstery work for many years, covering many automobile seats, restaurant chairs and benches, and school bus seats. She enjoyed hosting gatherings for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Rose was a parishioner of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn and a member of the K.J.Z.T.

Rose is survived by her husband of 67 years, Melroy G. Berger, of La Grange; daughter, Betty Moser and husband, Pete, of Brookshire; daughter, Cathy Simmons and husband, Jay, of Katy; son, Kenneth Berger and wife, Becky, of La Grange; ten grandchildren: Brian Berger, Lauryn Berger (Jason Brinkley), Andrew (Jennifer) Berger, Joshua (Bethany) Berger, Elizabeth (Adam) Kristoff, Lindsey (Nathan) Burks, Dylan (Mollie) Moser, Allison (Mark) Ferro, Elyse Simmons, and Jillian Simmons; eleven great-grandchildren: Braxton Berger, Haylee Mitchell, Hannah Mitchell, Bexley Berger, Ashtyn Berger, Cullen Berger, Bowen Berger, Aiden Sump, Aubrey Burks, Harper Burks, and Scarlett Burks; sister-in-law, Gladys Muras of Dubina; special friend, Nancy Berger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Berger, her parents, Joseph A. Muras and Bettie Muras, brothers, Joseph C. Muras, John V. Muras, Method P. Muras, and Daniel Muras; sisters, Agnes Antosh and Bernadette Schlottman. A special thank you is given to the wonderful caregivers of Visiting Angels of East Bernard, Texas.

A visitation is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. to receive friends. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum with interment to follow at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund, or a charity of your choice.
