David Alan Berger, 60, of La Grange, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022 after a long fight with cancer. David was born in La Grange on Nov. 26, 1961, the son of Rosalie (Muras) and Melroy Berger of La Grange, one of four children.

David attended La Grange high school and graduated in the class of 1980. He was the proud father of three children, two sons, Andrew and Josh and a daughter, Elizabeth. David was co-owner and worked at Berger Auto Body Shop for 40 plus years. In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing and dominoes.As well as having his own cattle, he helped his parents with theirs. He loved the outdoors and his dogs. He enjoyed family time and especially loved his grandchildren. He is survived by sons: Andy Berger and wife, Jennifer of La Grange, Josh Berger and wife, Bethany of La Grange, and daughter, Elizabeth Kristoff and husband, Adam of La Grange; grandchildren: Braxton, Hannah, Aiden, Haylee, Bexley, Ashtyn, Cullen, and Bowen; his parents, Rosalie (Muras) and Melroy Berger of La Grange; sisters: Betty Moser and husband, Pete of Brookshire, and Catherine Simmons and husband, Jay of Katy; brother, Kenneth Berger and wife, Becky of La Grange; special friend, Nancy Berger and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Pallbearers were Michael Wagner, J.K. Brandt, Chad Wagner, Dustin Wagner, Shawn Janacek and Neal Janacek.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange. Family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Holy Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022. Burial followed at Hostyn Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, 936 FM 2436, La Grange.
