Benton

Edgar Allen Benton, Jr., fondly known as “AB”, passed away on Feb. 6, 2024 at the age of 75.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1948 in Fort Bend County to Edgar Allen Benton, Sr. and Mary Delle (Fletcher) Benton. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. After retirement, AB found enjoyment in tending to his garden and tinkering around with his dog, Levi. His pride and joy was his grandson, Landon. His world changed the moment Landon was born. This loving father and Popo will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents, Edgar Allen Benton, Sr. and Mary Delle Benton, AB is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Benton; brother, George Melvin Benton; and his uncle, Oscar Benton.

Survivors include his son, Brandon Brook Benton and fiancé, Mindy Pannell; grandson, Landon Brook Benton; aunt, Joyce Lynn Benton; along with numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, 2024 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 in the Chapel of Davis- Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Burial with military honors to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
