Belota

Belota

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Nancy (Fiore) Belota died peacefully on Sept. 5, 2024, surrounded by family who dearly loved her.

Nancy was born in Norwalk, Conn. on Aug. 9, 1955. She was the loving daughter of Mario and Dorothy Fiore and the younger sister of Michael and Christine. Growing up in Connecticut, she graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1973.

A fun loving adventurer, Nancy made her way to Houston where she pursued a career as a paralegal for a renowned law firm. Nancy quickly gained the title of “Fancy Nancy” as she brought her sense of style to Texas. It was not long before her vivacious personality and beauty caught the eye of her future husband Brad Belota. Brad and Nancy were married on Oct. 19, 1991. A favorite date with Brad continued to be saltwater fishing at the coast and casting a line off a pier.

The birth of their son, Bradley was a dream come true for Nancy. She loved being a part of Bradley’s life and demonstrated that in her next career choice working in administration in Bradley’s schools. She was a huge supporter of Bradley’s student life including cheering from the bleachers at his baseball games, ringside at FFA events, and rooting for the Texas Aggies. Among the highlights of her life were the marriage of Bradley and Chloe and the birth of her granddaughter, Everly.

Nancy was a person of great faith. Reflecting her spirit, she brought brilliant color to her gardens and radiant warmth to her home. She loved cooking for her family and friends and always had a cherished pet. Nancy’s sparkly personality will be sorely missed. She could light up every room with her bright smile and sense of humor.

In 2019, Brad and Nancy chose to move to La Grange. Nancy flourished making friends, joining clubs and working in Bastrop; although, she missed the proximity to the Houston Astros and Minute Maid Park. With an intuitive sense, she always seemed to know when the Astros were playing and rarely missed a game.

She is survived by her husband, Brad of 32 years; son, Bradley, his wife Chloe and granddaughter, Everly Belota (Bastrop); mother, Dorothy Fiore-Renna (Trumbull, Conn.); father-in-law, Bob Belota (Plum); brother, Michael Fiore and wife Kate (Vero Beach, Fla.); sister Christine Lawrence and husband Glenn (Shelton, Conn.); sister-in-law, Bobbie King and husband Jim (College Station); brother-in-law, Aric Belota and wife Ann (Pflugerville); and sister-in-law, Ande Richardson (Houston). She is cherished by nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mario Fiore; stepfather, Albert Renna; mother-in-law, Audrey Belota, and sister-in-law, Trisha Belota.
