Funeral services for Melvin Bamsch, 88 of Giddings, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner and Rev. Joshua Hahn officiating. Burial followed at St. Michael’s Lutheran Cemetery in Winchester.

Melvin Henry Bamsch was born on Aug. 26, 1938, in Warda to Gustav and Lydia (Mitschke) Bamsch.

Melvin passed away peacefully at his home the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Bamsch of Giddings; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ben Meuth of Giddings; his granddaughter, Jena Lynn and her husband, Steven Ahsan of Giddings, who are awaiting the birth of Melvin’s great grandson.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Early Childhood Center, Immanuel Lutheran Church, or to the charity of one’s choice.
