Funeral services for Larry Noble Baker were held Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.

Larry Baker, 66, of Gatesville passed away on Sept. 16, 2024 with his daughter, Bridgett, by his side. He was born on May 21, 1958 in San Diego, Calif. to Noble Edwin Baker Jr. and Mary Dell (Gilbreath). Larry moved to Texas with his great aunt and uncle to complete high school and to continue his education with computer programming. During this time he met and married Dana Montgomery on June 19, 1979, and had threedaughters and a son. Decades later he met someone else and had another daughter.

Larry was a free spirit. He lived his life to the fullest. In his adventures, Larry hitchhiked across the United States for the experience and even was homeless by choice at one point. He dabbled in many things including being an ordained minister, in addition to his education in computer science and theology. He was great with computers and managed many of his own businesses. Larry also loved his two cats, Sam and Lilly, and watching his favorite television shows, Andy Griffith and Leave It to Beaver. Larry was a living, loving, and drifting person. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend, and fellow human. He captivated every soul and embraced life without regrets. He will be dearly missed.

Larry is survived by his children: Bridgett LeAnn Baker of Austin, Tristi Denise Caroll of Belton, Scottie Noble Baker of Gatesville and Mindy Catherine Girard of Schulenburg; siblings, Tony Louis DeStefano Jr., Angelena Mary DeStefano and Debbie Jodine DeStefano all of California; grandchildren, Christian Levi Parks, Jaden Scott Baker, Nicholai Louis Caroll, and Mary Lynnette Caroll; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Noble Edwin Baker Jr., mother Mary Dell DeStefano (Gilbreath), stepfather Tony Louis DeStefano Sr., daughter Tanya Lynnette Baker, brother Michael Howard Baker, and granddaughter Destiny Victoria LeAnn Vaughn.
