Baca

Baca Leonard Baca, a longtime resident and business man of Mont Belvieu, passed away on Dec. 13 at the age of 85.

He was born and raised in Plum. As a young man, he moved to Houston. He worked his way up from a stocker to a store manager at a major grocery chain. By 1970, he had moved to Mont Belvieu, where he opened the first of four businesses. His warm, welcoming smile was seen by all who entered his store, and he enjoyed talking with his customers. Mont Belvieu was his home where he raised a family, lived a life, and where he will be buried next to his wife of over 60 years.

His wife Dorothy Baca, preceded him in death as did his son Robert Wolfe.

His surviving sons are Joe Wolfe of Mont Belvieu, Leonard Altimore of Houston, Leonard “Lenny” Baca of Mont Belvieu, and Steven Baca of Henderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Irene Polasek and husband Jerry of La Grange, Cathy Walla of La Grange, and one brother, Edwin Baca of Houston.

Graveside services were held at Palms Memorial Cemetery in Mont Belvieu on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024.
