Fayette County needs more volunteer firefighters. Fire chiefs and their assistants from the 10 volunteer fire departments in Fayette County came to the Commissioners Court meeting in La Grange last Wednesday, Nov.

$47,855 Grant Made to Schulenburg Fire Dept.

With the support of a $47,855 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of Schulenburg, the Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department will construct a new building to store and protect its firetrucks and other emergency equipment.

Judge Weber Addresses Fayetteville Lions

The Fayetteville Lions Club hosted County Judge Joe Weber to hear an update on the County and the issues affecting Fayetteville. Over 40 people listened at the Grand Fayette Hotel. The president of the Club, John Dennis, informed the group at the meeting that they had won $500 in prize money for recently adding the most new members during a district membership drive, and for being the fastest growing club by percentage in its district.

Jonna Hale and her family decided to make La Grange their home earlier this year. Having grown up in the small town of Sealy, she and her husband Robert want their child to have the same small town experience they had growing up. She recently joined Lindemann Real Estate and is super excited about working within the community. Jonna has worn many hats in the real estate industry in the last 25 years. She has worked in property management assisting with purchasing and renovating houses, leasing and accounting. She also worked as a mortgage loan officer for seven years before getting her real estate license in 2007.
