The Fayette County Elections Office published a precinct-by-precinct report of last week’s primary elections. The report provides details about how different parts of the County voted in the County Judge race.

The majority of voters who cast ballots in the primary elections last week were over age 55, and the most of those were between 65 and 74 years old. In comparison, about 26.4 percent of the general population in Fayette County is over 65, according to the 2020 U.S.

The old Bealls building at 215 Ellinger Rd, which has been vacant for two years has been sold and will become a training center for Education Service Center Region 13, which serves as a liaison between the Texas Education Agency and the local school districts. Region 13 encompasses 57 school districts, 24 charter schools, eight institutions of higher education, and 17 private schools. “We are excited to expand out to LG with a distance campus to offer educator training, student course offerings and even rentable space for the community,” said Rich Elsasser, Executive Director of Region 13.
