City of Ellinger Requests Proposals

The City of Ellinger plans to apply for Texas CDBG-MIT Regional Mitigation Program’s Method of Distribution Development (CDBG MIT-MOD) program(s) from the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and is soliciting proposals to provide administration and/or planning services for CDBG contract(s), if awarded. Please electronically submit your proposals in .pdf format via email at cityofellinger@cvctx.com OR submit your proposal to the address below on a thumb drive: Attn: (/City secretary (101 West Schumacher Street, Ellinger, Texas 78938. Proposals must be received by the City of Ellinger no later that (5pm, July 11th.) to be considered. The City of Ellinger reserves the right to negotiate with any and all individuals or firms that submit proposals and may award one or more contracts to one or more service provider(s). Section 3 Residents and Business Concerns, Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises and Women Business Enterprises, and Labor Surplus Area firms are encouraged to submit proposals. American Legion Presents Scholarships

American Legion Auxiliary Unit #102 of La Grange presented scholarships at their June 8 monthly meeting having three $500 recipients. Magic Show at the Library

On Wednesday, June 22, the Fayette Public Library hosted a magic show for families in the community. The magician, Bobby Cordell, performed several tricks and invited children from the crowd to participate as his magician’s assistants. Taste of the Towns Competition Held

What’s a friendly rivalry between towns? On Sunday, June 5, in Schulenburg at Wolters Park many found out at the first annual Taste of Towns held by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley represent Weimar, Schulenburg, and Columbus.

Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Meeting

Pictured at the June 21, 2022 Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau meeting are members who celebrated a birthday and/or an anniversary during the April, May, June quarter. They were recognized with a cake enjoyed by all members. The meeting program included guest speaker, Scott Willey, Scott discussed the feral hog problem in the County and informed members of ongoing steps they are taking to help land owners eradicate feral hogs.
