Prisoner Flees From ER, Caught Quickly

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on 11-17-2022, at approximately 8:10pm, inmate Deshawn Villanueva, 30 years old from La Grange, claimed he was sick and the Corrections Officer staff contacted Fayette County EMS to have him evaluated. EMS transported him to St. Mark Emergency room with a Corrections Officer on board. The prisoner was secured with restraints. While at St. Mark’s and still restrained, the inmate ran out of the ER doors.

Marine Corps Celebrates Birthday, Scholarship Winners Announced

The Colorado Valley Detachment No. 1028 Marine Corps League celebrated the 247th birthday of the Marine Corps on Friday, Nov. 11 at The Texas Czech Center. In time honored tradition, the first piece of birthday cake was presented to the eldest Marine, Jack Elvig. The second piece of birthday cake was presented to the youngest Marine, Montana Olle.

Depot Milestone Celebrated With Chili Meal

The Friends of the Railroad Depot hosted a chili lunch and open house to celebrate the 125th birthday of the Historic Katy depot in downtown La Grange last Thursday.
