Learn how to produce your own honey and help save the bees by attending the Thirteenth Annual Central Texas Beekeepers School on Saturday, April 1 at Brenham High School in Brenham. The school is open to the public for anyone interested in keeping bees or who wants to learn about bees.

New Mueller Administration Tackles Hazard Mitigation

Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller and Fayette County Emergency Management Coordinator Angela Hahn convened a meeting of Fayette County Leaders on Wednesday, January 4. The meeting took place at the EMS building in La Grange. Several Mayors, City Managers and Elected Officials including Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek as well as the Police Chiefs of La Grange, Schulenburg and Flatonia were in attendance.

People Can Help Water System During Next Freeze

Fayette Water Supply Corporation (FWSC) General Manager Jim Rebecek said the water system experienced some frozen lines at its well in the Rutersville- Walhalla area as temperatures dipped into the teens just before Christmas. Crews were able to bypass the frozen lines.

Faison House Announces MLK Program

The Faison House is proud to be a sponsor of the Martin Luther King walk for freedom and unity on Saturday, January 14, 2023. The .8-mile walk starts at the Fayette County Courthouse at noon. A short program will be held at the Library Gazebo. After the program, participants will gather across the street at the Faison House (822 S. Jefferson).

Yoga at the Fayette Public Library will be starting on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 5:30 until 6 p.m. Yoga will be on the second and last Tuesday of every month. Bring your own mat and join. Other fun new programs at the library that encourage creativity isTinkerTots for ages 18 months to 5 years old on Wednesdays starting Jan. 11 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thinker Thursday for ages 6+ will be held Thursdays starting Jan. 12 from 4-6 p.m. These reoccurring programs are free and open to the public.
