From July 15-17, 1868, in the small town of Millican, up to 300 Black Americans were driven away or killed in what some scholars consider the worst incident of racial violence in Texas during Reconstruction. Autism Awareness Month Proclaimed

Fayette County Commissioners Court signed a proclamation at their meeting on March 9 designating the month of April as Autism Awareness Month in Fayette County. On hand for the signing was Destiny Psencik of the Turtle Wing Foundation, an organization aimed at connecting families who have children with learning challenges with the services and support they need to be successful. Several Injured in Two Wrecks on US 290

Several people suffered injuries and at least one person was flown by helicopter following a pair of wrecks on US 290 Thursday, March 16. Texas Department of Public Safety investigated both crashes, but a report was not available in time for this publication.

Antiques Destroyed by Fire on Ellinger Rd.

A fire on Ellinger Road just outside La Grange destroyed several sheds and storage buildings filled with antiques on Wednesday, March 15. La Grange Volunteer Fire Department got the call around 4:40 p.m.

TCHCC Hosts Sneak Peek of New Chapel
