Chief: ‘She Said She Took Her Clothes Off Because it Was Hot’

Sometimes you have to shed a few layers to beat this heat.

Last Friday around 2:15 p.m., a motorist called La Grange Police about a woman wearing only underwear walking down the service road of SH 71 Bypass. La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath responded and found the woman on the service road near the intersection of Von Minden Rd.

“She was walking down the road in bikini underwear,” Gilbreath said. “She had a pair of shorts around her neck.”

Gilbreath said the woman was in her 30s and had an Austin address, but she was staying with a family member in La Grange.

“She said she took her clothes off because it was hot,” Gilbreath said.

The weather last Friday was actually cooler than it had been last week and the days since then – barely 90 degrees at the time, according to the thermometer at Fayette Regional Air Center.

Gilbreath gave the woman a courtesy ride to her family member’s residence in La Grange.
