Rural Nonprofit Networking Group to Discuss Risk Management Oct. 11

The Rural Nonprofit Networking Group (RNNG) is excited to invite all nonprofit staff and volunteers to join their next gathering which will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 10-11 a.m. RNNG creates opportunities for the organizations that do so much good in our rural communities to share their missions and visions, discuss community needs and partnership opportunities, bring in experts to facilitate growth and professionalism, and simply connect to maximize the efficiency and impact that participants can bring to Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, and surrounding counties.

BEC Awards $63,000 to Fire Departments

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to award $1,000 grants to all 63 fire departments that protect and serve communities in the cooperative’s 14-county service area. These grants are in recognition for the outstanding job the departments have done this summer.

Building the Backyard Greenhouse Educational Program October 10 in La Grange

The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn educational program is a series of seven informational meetings designed to provide gardening or general landscaping information for homeowners. Fayette County Master Gardeners plan and present a variety of programs from experts in the area and across the state. This series is designed with the homeowner in mind; bring your lunch and learn about a variety of topics that help you have a more productive garden, prettier flower beds, or how to better understand your landscape ecosystems.

Soil, Water and Hay Testing Campaign Begins

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Fayette County is conducting a soil, water, and hay testing campaign from October 3-25. This program is being held in conjunction with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Fayette County, Fayette County Commissioner’s Court, and the Fayette County Groundwater Conservation District.
