Blacklight Painting

Come and join the Fayette Public Library on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 5 p.m. for a Halloween Blacklight Painting program. Celebrate all things spooky by painting your very own Halloween door hanger. This is a registration only program and there are 10 spots available. Call the library or stop by to reserve your spot. LG Garden Club
Medicinal plants, herbs and oils will be the topic of the La Grange Garden Club presentation at the Oct. 26 meeting. Pharmhouse Drugs pharmacist, Krish Kocian, will present this program along with information on new COVID, Flu, Pneumonia and dealing with fall allergies. La Grange Garden Club meets at the Randloph Recreation Center monthly on the fourth Thursday at 2 p.m. Come and learn natural ways to better health for you and your family.

Women’s Small Business Seminar
The La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting you to the first annual National Women’s Small Business Seminar/Workshop to be held on Friday, Oct. 27, at the Historic Casino Hall, 254 N. Jefferson St., La Grange, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free and anyone interested can register by calling the chamber office (979) 968-5756 or visit the La Grange Chamber website. Aaron Demerson, Commissioner representing employers from Texas Workforce Commission, will deliver the opening remarks.
Spooky Stories
Looking for some chills and thrills to start your Halloweekend? Come enjoy local legends and tall tales of Fayette County. Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites will share spooky stories on Friday, Oct. 27. Stories begin at 7 p.m. but come early to watch the sunset and enjoy BYO picnics. Guests are encouraged to bring picnics, beverages, chairs or blanket, and flashlights. The sites’ regular admission fees apply to this program, but it is free for Friends Group members. Muldoon Museum Meeting
The public is invited to the Nov. 1 meeting of the Muldoon Museum beginning at 2 p.m. Plans for December activities will be discussed.
Chess Tournament in Round Top The Round Top Family Library will host a chess tournament on Saturday, Nov. 4. Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended. FCCT Presents Harvey
The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will present the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Harvey” by Mary Chase on Nov. 3, 4 and 5 at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater located at 250 West Fair Grounds Road in La Grange. Ticket prices are $15 for adult general admission, $10 for student general admission, and $40 for a VIP ticket. Tickets are available for purchase from FCCT’s Box Office located at 120 South Washington Street in La Grange or online at http://www.fayettecountycommunitytheatre. com. The show begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, and 3 p.m. for the Sunday, Nov. 5 matinee.
Kinder Nominations For Leap
Nominations for LGISD kindergarten students is open until Nov. 15. If you would like to nominate your child for the LEAP screening process, fill out a parent/community nomination form and return to school with your child. This can be found in the “Forms and Documents” section of the Gifted and Talented site.
