Wild Game Supper Jan. 27 in Hallettsville

The Hallettsville Knights of Columbus Wild Game Supper and Big Buck Contest Will be held Saturday, Jan. 27 at the K of C Hall in Hallettsville. This is the fun night everybody waits for all year and could be your lucky night.

Jackson Writes Book About LG Railways

The La Grange M-K-T Depot Museum is pleased to announce the publication of the history of La Grange’s railways: ”Here Comes the Katy, The Railways of La Grange” by Larry Jackson. This book details the history of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (Katy) depot in La Grange, Texas. Richly illustrated, it also explains the importance of railroads to the development of Texas and in particular, to Fayette County. Copies are for sale at the depot for $10. Copies purchased at the depot support the depot and museum. Also available at The Fayette County Record and on Amazon.

Ellinger Chamber Hosting Republican Forum Feb. 4

The Fayette County Republican Party will host a forum at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall located at 104 W. Colorado Sky on Sunday, Feb. 4 from 1-4 p.m. This free event will allow you to learn about the candidates in preparation for the March 5 primary election. Those on the panel will include County Attorney Candidates James Herbrich and Mark Elvig, County Constable Pct. 2 Candidates Roger Wunderlich and Kenneth King and Republican Party Chairman Candidates Deborah Frank and Michael Schlabach.
