Armed Forces Appreciation Dinner and Dance May 18

Local Veteran Service Organizations will offer a firstever combined Armed Forces Appreciation Dinner and Dance May 18 in Flatonia at the American Legion Hall.

This dinner and dance was created to provide all veterans of the Armed Forces the opportunity to participate in an annual event similar to active service components.

The most common denominator discovered was that once transitioned out of respective branches of service, there was an immediate disconnection with these traditional and customary events of shared comradeship, which have always been treasured. Yet, despite this disconnection, whether in or out of the uniform, members still live out instilled values and way of life as active leaders in the communities, workplace, and every daily endeavor we perform.

At the heart of this Armed Forces Appreciation Dinner and Dance lies the mission to honor and support veterans while empowering the next generation. The goal further enriches this mission to connect past and present military professionals to the future leaders of America. The vision is to establish a pathway to reignite, foster, and sustain shared patriotism alongside fellow veterans through this distinctive event that will endure for years to come.

The community is invited to partake in the celebration and commemoration of our enduring legacies. The Armed Forces Appreciation Dinner and Dance welcomes all veterans, whether active, reserves, separated, or retired, along with their esteemed guest. Support is paramount as we unite to realize the vision of fostering fellowship and extending honor and salute to esteemed veteran heroes and community, forming a collective and meaningful shared patriotic investment.
