Rodeo Artwork by Greater Vision Team School Honored

Students with Greater Vision Team School participated in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Contest for their third year, competing against entries from over 50 other private and parochial schools in the Houston and surrounding areas. GVTS is a local Christian homeschool co-op that meets at Lutherhill Camp & Retreat. Our co-op is able to participate as a private school, which allows us to submit 10 entries for our Elementary, 10 entries for Junior High, and 10 for our High School.

LG Man in his 40s Dies of Natural Causes

A man in his 40s died after a medical emergency at his home on Cottonwood Rd. north of La Grange Tuesday morning, March 5. Residents in the area noticed a large number of first responders on Cottonwood Rd. that morning, including EMS and Sheriff’s Office personnel. Fayette County EMS Director Josh Vandever said medics responded and found a patient suffering from cardiac arrest. Medics attempted resuscitation, but they were not successful, he said. Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie of the Sheriff’s Office said the man died from natural causes and there were no signs of foul play.

Summer Camp Registration Open for ARTS

Weeklong Artwork Camps to Be Held in Fayetteville, La Grange, Schulenburg and Columbus in 2024 Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) is committed to providing art experiences and art education to the children of rural Texas throughout the year. ARTS’ Summer Camps provide a creative space for young artists to learn and play. Each camp offers a fun and interactive curriculum where students can learn many different art forms, such as painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, quilting, felting, movie making, performing arts, music, and much more.

New Vehicle Registration Branches Added

Two new web agents have recently partnered with the county Tax Assessor/Collector’s office in becoming web agents that allows that office to sell motor vehicle registrations in their office and provides convenience to the customer.
