Grant from LCRA/City of LG Helps Pay for the Bathroom Renovations at Historic Hermes Gym

The La Grange Education Support Program Foundation has renovated the restrooms in the 1938 Hermes Gym, thanks to a $23,684 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of La Grange. The Community Development Partnership Program grant, along with $23,684 in matching funds from the educational foundation, enabled the group to make much-needed improvements to the gym restrooms used by La Grangearea school students and youth sports organizations.

Alexandra Bruns Weds Matthew Blair Nov. 9

Alexandra Rae Bruns and Matthew Scott Blair exchanged wedding vows on Sat., Nov. 9, at 3 p.m. outside Freyburg Hall in Freyburg. The couple were married by Pastor Tim Rowell of Flatonia Baptist Church under the live oak trees and a cedar arbor. Matt and Alexandra first met through the World Race, a year long mission trip and discipleship program.

Senior Connections Has a Busy December Ahead

Senior Connections in Schulenburg, is gearing up for a fun-filled week of events from Dec. 9 to Dec. 13, packed with entertainment, delicious meals, and holiday cheer. Here is what’s on the calendar: Monday, Dec. 9, Schulenburg: the week kicks off at 9 a.m. with conversations, coffee, and a lively round of dominoes or two. Community Art Featured in ARTS’ Holiday Show

Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) kicks off its seasonal festivities with the opening of The Holiday Show, an annual gallery exhibition celebrating the creativity and talent of the local community. The exhibition opening will be held Saturday, December 14, in conjunction with Fayetteville’s Country Christmas celebration.
