In special recognition of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary, the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) has expanded eligibility for the Family Land Heritage program for 2026. For 2026, the Family Land Heritage program will welcome families who have owned and operated a farm or ranch as a going agricultural concern for 50 years and 75 years, in addition to those who have maintained their family heritage for 100, 150 years, 200 years, or more.

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday June 15 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

Fayette County’s Walk Across Texas event ended recently with 10 teams competing during the 8-week series. The 2026 theme for the program was “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday Through Walk Across Texas” with historic sites and parks highlighted in the weekly newsletters.

Events Planned for June 19-21 by LG Juneteenth Committee An annual Juneteenth celebration will once again be presented by the La Grange Juneteenth Committee. Scheduled events will take place over three days from Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 21.
