New La Grange High School NHS Inductees

Twenty-three students from La Grange High School were recently inducted as new members of the National Honor Society. Members were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. “We are very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body. National Honor Society members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community,” said Heather Muesse, chapter adviser. The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students; the La Grange High School chapter has been active since 1990. There are chapters in more than 16,000 high schools and, since 1921, millions of students have been selected for membership. The Cows Are Out...

Those four words can send a cattle raiser’s pulse racing, but today, the vast majority of bovines on the loose in Fayette County are for sale at Round Top/Warrenton antique show venues. Although Holstein cows appear to have provided the most inspiration for artists and artisans, it’s a motley herd, some with pedigrees originating in France. The show may be winding down, but there’s still time to corral a few head. Cow creative! Photos by Elaine Thomas
