Christmas Parades to Light Up Fayette County

The annual Schmeckenfest parade in La Grange (5:15 p.m. Thursday Dec. 1) will include lots of Christmas lights, but if you haven’t gotten your fill there’s weekend opportunities for two more lighted parades.

FLATONIA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that, on December 12, 2022, the Board of Trustees of the Flatonia Independent School District will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. in the Flatonia ISD Secondary Library, located at 400 East 4th Street, Flatonia, Texas 78941, to consider and act upon a resolution designating certain areas as a Reinvestment Zone under Texas Tax Code § 312.0025, in portions of Fayette County, Texas, to be known as “Wild Peach Solar Reinvestment Zone #1”, establishing the boundaries thereof, and providing for an effective date. In determining whether to designate the Reinvestment Zone, the Board of Trustees will consider whether “Wild Peach Solar Reinvestment Zone #1” (i) meets the criteria set forth in Texas Tax Code § 312.0025 for the creation of a reinvestment zone as set forth in the Property Redevelopment and Tax Abatement Act, as amended; and (ii) is reasonably likely to contribute to the expansion of primary employment in the reinvestment zone, or attract major investment in the reinvestment zone that will be a benefit to property in the reinvestment zone and to the school district, and contribute to the economic development of the region of this State in which the school district is located. All interested persons may appear and present testimony and evidence for or against the foregoing. (10-1c)
