We are so excited to set the date for opening our third satellite location for Senior Connections. This satellite location will be in La Grange, held on Wednesdays, and will open on the Aug. 5 with the same schedule as all locations, doors open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m and will include a nutritious home-cooked meal after a morning of fun board games, hot coffee, and camaraderie.

The beach was magical. We arrived Saturday morning, about 8 a.m.

Immigration enforcement has proved quite lucrative for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. On June 8, the Record submitted an open records request to the Fayette County Auditor’s Office for information about the total amount of grant funding received by the Sheriff’s Office through Operation Lone Star and the 287(g) program with U.S.

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations. The shelter is closed to the public with staff onsite for animal care from 8 a.m - 4 p.m. Reclaims are allowed on Monday after 10 a.m. by appointment. On Aug. 2, the La Grange Tractor Supply store will host a Farmers’ Market featuring locally-grown, fresh produce, as well as other seasonal products.

The annual Herman and Hulda (Moerbe) Lehmann Reunion was held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the home of Douglas and Lorie Lehmann of Warda. This reunion started in 1991 so the family members celebrated 35 years of getting together The oldest member attending was George Berry. The youngest attendee was Everett Yarusso. The member who traveled the furthest was Brittany Crowley and the closet attendees were Douglas and Lorie Lehmann. The longest married couple was George and Cora Berry and the newly married couple was Kevin and Jen Berry.

Fayette County Commissioners spent more than an hour discussing next year’s budget during a workshop session at their meeting last Thursday. They used most of that time considering possible raises for employees.

Fayette Electric Cooperative (FEC) invites all members to attend its Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, July 15, at the KC Community Center, located at 190 South Brown Street in La Grange. Registration will start at 5:30 p.m., and the business meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.
