Austin Teen Arrested with Ecstacy Pills

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on the evening of July 19, Deputy Joe Gonzales initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 71 near West Point for traveling in the left lane without passing.

Bead And Prayer

An interactive workshop luncheon is being hosted at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in La Grange on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Women’s Ministry is sponsoring the event. Pre-paid registration is required. The fee is $25 and includes book, lunch and bead packet. All women 16 and up are eligible to attend. The group is non-denominational book club. League Fish Fry

The La Grange Little League will hold a fish fry on Aug. 5 from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Pavilion Hall (Round Up Hall). The meal will consist of fried fish, pinto beans, cole slaw and hush puppies. Tickets are $10 and can be ordered by calling Krystal Dahse at (979) 702-1766. The tickets will only be sold through July 25.

Little Free Library

The Little Free Library located at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl, has started a project focusing on diversity. The Lamplighters, curators of the library, are offering books for kids, adults, and young adults that promote understanding and acceptance of our differences. Our hope is that we can bring more unity to our community. The special books are displayed on the middle shelf. All citizens are invited to come read, return, share.
