Bluebonnet Members Report Recent Increase In Attempted Payment Scams

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members have reported a recent increase in attempted phone scams by people claiming to represent Bluebonnet. The fraudulent callers tell members their power will be disconnected unless they make a payment over the phone. These calls are not made by or on behalf of Bluebonnet.

Cut Fiber Optic Cable Leaves 911 Landline Callers Without Service

A cut fiber optic cable created difficulties for both Fayette and Lee counties Tuesday, disrupting 911 dispatching capabilities for both jurisdictions. Bastrop County’s Communication Center managed emergency calls for all three counties for approximately three hours until the cable was repaired.

Second Chance Donates to LG Citizens Police

Second Chance Emporium recently donated $1,200 to the La Grange Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (LGCPAAA). Schilling Wins National Tractor Restoration Competition

Chevron Products Company, a Chevron U.S.A. Inc. division and maker of the Delo brand of technologically advanced engine oils, lubricants and coolants, has announced Ricky Schilling of Fayetteville as the 2020 Grand Champion of its annual Delo Tractor Restoration Competition. Twelve of the nation’s most accomplished high school student tractor restoration enthusiasts competed for the 2020 title virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an outstanding accomplishment in and of itself.

Lavaca Couple Wins Outstanding Young Farmer And Rancher Contest

An idea hatched from practicality has grown into a fullydeveloped business venture and created statewide recognition for Matt and Jessica Hanslik of Lavaca County. The couple was named the winner of Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) 2020 Outstanding Young Farmer & Rancher (YF&R) competition during the organization’s 87th Annual Meeting virtual opening session.
