Blinn named 2,486 students to its Fall 2020 Chancellor’s and Deans’ scholars lists 1,111 students earn Chancellor’s Scholar honors with GPAs of at least 3.75. The Blinn College District has named 2,486 students to its academic honors lists for the Fall 2020 semester.

Chicken Noodle Soup & Bake Sale The annual homemade chicken noodle soup and bake sale will be held Sunday, Jan. 17 at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Hostyn from 9 to 11 a.m.

Fayette County Judge Joe Weber announced in a press release Tuesday several new restrictions due to the high hospitalization rate associated with COVID-19 in the area. “Fayette County is part of Trauma Service Area O (TSA O), that has had seven consecutive days in which the number of COVID-19 hospitalized patients as a percentage of total hospital capacity within TSA O exceeds 15%.

Six vehicles belonging to fishermen in town for a tournament at Fayette Lake were burglarized early Saturday morning, Jan. 9.

A City water line on College Street near Tejas Healthcare broke Monday afternoon, which sent an impressive geyser of water shotting out of the ground for a few minutes. “We’ve got some pretty good system pressure in that vicinity,” remarked La Grange City Manager Shawn Raborn.

The Texas MS 150 will be a one-day event this year, scheduled to take place on May 1. The annual fundraiser for the fight against multiple sclerosis normally takes place over two days with an overnight stop in La Grange. Organizers are planning several changes to the event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
