Several teams of folks spent last Thursday night on the courthouse lawn participating in the first Trivia Night on the Square event. La Grange High School performed “Louder, I Can’t Hear You” by William Gleason on Friday March 12 at the La Grange Performing Arts Center. La Grange High School was awarded All-Star Crew with All-Star Crew Member being Awarded to Katherine Karstedt (11th) .

On Saturday, March 12 at 5:30 p.m. La Grange Police Officer Bret Meinardus and Sergeant Justin Koehne were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a suspicious person that had been wondering around the store for five hours, according to Police Chief David Gilbreath.

On Saturday, April 3rd, Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites will host Easter on the Bluff, reminiscent of a once a popular social occasion at the Bluff Schuetzen Verein Pavilion. The event will feature interpretive programs, a children’s egg hunt, and bonfire. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics, beverages, chairs or blankets, and a flashlight. Capacity is limited and reservations are required. Anybody interested is encouraged to register via the Friends website as soon as possible.

Only three months into the year, La Grange’s city sales tax revenue has shot past half a million dollars. That’s the second highest total ever for the first quarter of a year.
