Women’s Discussion on Faith and Mental Health to be Held in Schulenburg

Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church located at 1206 Wolter’s Ave. in Schulenburg is hosting a discussion on the intersection of faith and mental health named Woman to Woman: Shifting Our Crowns on Saturday, May 20. Check-in and registraiton will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. with the event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

There is no cost to attend. Register at eventbrite http:// bit.ly/3Njm7AX. Seating is limited. The first 50 ladies to register and arrive will receive a swag bag.

Woman to Woman: Shifting Our Crowns will be presented by BRIDGE.

One of BRIDGE’s service areas is mental health. This event is for the women in the community. It will be a discussion on the intersection of faith and mental health. BRIDGE’s goal is to make this into a series that is available for the entire community in rural areas.

Guest speakers will include Minister Sonya Hosey, Dr. Darlene Ephraim, Minister Aisha Williams, workshop facilitator K LaFleur-Anders, and a host of mental health therapists.

The mission of Building Resilience Inclusion Diversity and Growth thru Education (BRIDGE) is to bridge the racial gap in business, education, government, community and health in the rural areas.

The event is sponsored by The Red Door Fund for Mental Health seeks to help local individuals who are struggling with mental illness as well as their family.

Sponsorship is provided by Minister Sonya Hosey, Central Texas Network Weaver Engine, as resident-led participatory grantmaking made possible by the St. David’s Foundation through their investment in rural health and network weaving.
