Woman Arrested In Crash That Killed LG Man

A local man died in a crash near O’Quinn Sunday morning, and the driver who hit him was arrested for intoxication manslaughter.

According to a report from Sgt. Darryl Tidwell of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on March 1. The report said 49-year-old Matthew Kosler of La Grange was stopped at the stopped sign on Mach Rd. at the intersection of FM 609 in a 2000 Ford F-150. Paiton Martinolich, a 33-yearold woman from Galveston, was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 south on FM 609.

The report said Martinolich failed to maintain a single lane. Her pickup drove off the road and struck Kosler’s pickup. Kosler died at the scene.

Tidwell said investigators believe Martinolich was intoxicated at the time of the crash. She was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange.
